From the merchants' perspective, the new payment method modules ensure high service quality, easy implementation, and an excellent user experience at the online store checkout.

    Motivated by better customer service

Paytrail is a Finnish payment processing company owned by OP Group, with their solution being used by approximately 10,000 merchants in Finland. The company aims to make purchasing easy and secure online, in brick-and-mortar stores, and in all digital services.

Paytrail wanted to offer their customers free-of-charge payment interfaces for different e-commerce platforms. They also decided to implement a new payment method module compatible with these new interfaces for the popular Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) e-commerce platform. One incentive for this was that Paytrail had noticed that solutions from external service providers are not always of consistent quality, and there is significant variation in the pricing of different solutions. From the merchants' perspective, the new payment method modules ensure high service quality, easy implementation, and an excellent user experience at the online store checkout. Having their own solution also makes it easier to track module usage and provides a competitive advantage.

For the implementation of the Adobe Commerce (Magento) e-commerce platform payment method module, Paytrail approached several suppliers. Solteq was selected as the final partner through a bidding process. Joonas Loueranta, who is responsible for OP Merchant Services partnerships and leads the development of Paytrail integrations, says that Solteq's offer stood out from the crowd. "The offer was well-prepared and the content was of high quality," explains Loueranta. Solteq's Adobe Commerce (Magento) e-commerce expertise, understanding of merchants, and strong digital competence also influenced the decision-making.

    Quality project work

The project progressed in close cooperation and lasted approximately 3 months in total. Of the payment method modules offered by Paytrail, Adobe Commerce is the most extensive e-commerce platform, but despite this, the work progressed quickly with a professional team. Loueranta says that the project work was straightforward and firmly executed. "The whole project was well-planned and phased. When an unexpected error occurred, the issue was resolved quickly and fairly from the customer's perspective. I wouldn't really do anything differently," Loueranta states when asked about the project.

Today, the Adobe Commerce payment method module is available to Paytrail's customers and its implementation is effortless with a short code snippet. The new module guarantees improved performance, among other benefits. Additionally, the module enables easy implementation of value-added services.

The successful project also ensured that cooperation with Solteq continues on the integration maintenance side. "Solteq is a knowledgeable Adobe Commerce partner who provided us with a high-quality project implementation. This is a good foundation for continuing our cooperation," summarizes Loueranta.
