    Advanced logistics

When it comes to handling 8,000 product lines across 7 ships, there is a need for a well thought out digital platform, and not least an advanced logistics system. Color Line has achieved this with the solutions they have implemented together with Solteq.

“When we had to find a partner back in 2019, our strategic purchasing department scanned the market and obtained offers from various candidates,” says Thomas Gudbjerg, Group President at Color Line, and continues:

“Our goal with the project was that we would implement a completely new digital solution on board our ships, both in accordance with the payment system, but also for the entire logistics part behind. In other words, everything related to the process from sourcing products until they are sold on the ship .”

“When handling 8,000 product lines across 7 ships as we do at Color Line, it is extremely important to operate on a standard platform, where all initiatives are consistent and not least well thought out.”

“The project was divided into two projects. One on board and one for logistics. When we reviewed the offers we had received, Solteq was chosen in accordance with the logistics project. They already had good experience in the maritime market and they were able to understand our needs. And they are also locally in place Denmark and could work with our office in Hirtshals, which made them a strong and not least present partner.”

“Throughout the entire process, which started back in 2019, Solteq has been proactive and very open in their approach to things. There has been a good structure in the project, and Solteq has been able to convey change management and to explain the next step clearly and understandably.”

“In a project that runs over several years, it is crucial that the planning is in order, and it has been with Solteq. We experience that Solteq has solved he few, but necessary changes that have been made outside the standard solution in a good way. For example, we have a requirement for customs documents that must be met. These requirements have been incorporated into our new system.”

“We are very pleased with the collaboration with Solteq, which will continue with the ongoing support and development of logistics. It is important to have a problem-free connection between the built-in system and the logistics system,” concludes Thomas Gudbjerg.
