Solteq launches a unified commerce solution to speed up digitalization in the restaurant sector

    Press release
    January 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.

Solteq Plc, a Nordic IT solution and service provider, introduces a unified commerce solution able to boost digitalization in the restaurant sector. Solteq Commerce Cloud combines POS functions and the management of sales, orders, deliveries, and product information. It also enables efficient control of core functions, such as processes in a kitchen. Due to a new element, an online shop application, added to Solteq Commerce Cloud, the digital leap for the restaurant sector has never been easier.

The restaurant sector is on the verge of a digital transformation, but the development has been slowed down by factors such as incompatible systems and the magnitude of IT investments. The modular Solteq Commerce Cloud, delivered as SaaS solution, meets the needs of restaurants of various sizes and types.

Online business still a rare treat in the restaurant business

According to a nationwide survey* carried out by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, only some 25 percent of Finnish restaurants provide customers with the option of ordering food online for home delivery or pick-up. Yet 94 percent of restaurants have a website. Online sales and a system that enables omnichannel business make it possible for restaurants to collect valuable customer data and to expand their business geographically. Being able to purchase food online also improves the customer experience as the demand for online food orders has grown significantly in recent years.

With Solteq’s solution, the digital leap to multichannel business can be made quickly, in some cases even in a matter of days. The system includes POS and ERP systems, product information management, online shop application, and features for self-service kiosks and contactless transactions.

“The pandemic has hit the restaurant business hard. Succeeding in the continuously changing operating environment requires the industry to take a leap toward a seamless multi-channel business model. We have the honor of helping our customers’ digital transformation with our solution designed for multi-channel restaurant business”, sums up Jani Naukkarinen of Solteq.
