While our facial hair grew, we managed to gather an incredible 1023 euros. Our ranking on Finland’s list was 26. There were over 900 teams, so we did quite well.

IBM has published its fifth CEO Study. The survey is carried out every two years. This time, the CEOs were asked about their attitudes toward network economics where relationship networks are more significant than ever.
Outotec renews ID card system
Earlier this year, we supplied the minerals and metals processing technology provider Outotec with a new personal identification card system for global use. The ID card system is designed for managing and printing ID cards and passes. It is browser-based and built with IBM XPages technology.
Consumerization changes everyday life
Consumerization saw the light of day when employees started taking their own technical devices to work, because they were more convenient to work with than the computers offered by their employers. The launching of tablet computers is commonly regarded as the first step of consumerization. The mobility of work has increased as well: Work is done where the employee feels most efficient, not only at the workplace.

Descom's Portal Solutions team implements online services and virtual desktops to accelerate the customer's business. These include intranet, extranet, and Internet services, as well as social media tools for both internal and external use. Juha Särkinen has started in his new job as a team leader of Portal Solutions.
New office in Sweden
We have expanded our operations to Sweden this year. Country Director Tero Junttila has worked in our new office in Stockholm since the beginning of February. Sales Manager Bengt Holmberg joined Tero in August.
Starkki opens online store, accelerated by cloud service
Starkki opened a new online store in June. Customers are able to order season-related products online from Starkki’s garden store. Descom took part in developing the online store concept as well as in carrying out the solution. Descom provides the online store as a cloud service.
Prisma opens online store
The Finnish hypermarket chain Prisma launched an online store for household goods on Saturday, August 11. Prisma’s parent company S Group has previously opened two other online stores in Finland: the Sokos online beauty shop and the Kodin Terra online hardware store.
