PowerMaint maintenance and materials management system

Experience brings reliability

PowerMaint is a flexible and effective maintenance, materials management and service management system that can be expanded and supplemented according to business needs.

The product has already seen its fourth-generation release, PowerMaint 10. Hundreds of deliveries and vast experience have built up an efficient and fast routine for setting up the PowerMaint system for customers, including project planning and implementation, data transfers, installation, training and other roll-out services.

PowerMaint has been installed in around 200 facilities in ten different countries, and it now has thousands of users. Installation environments range in size from a few users to several hundred. PowerMaint customers are active in, for example, the forest, energy, process, food and mechanical engineering industries.

PowerMaint use: objectives and benefits

The goal of effective maintenance is to optimise the availability and reliability of production machinery at minimum cost and, in the process, ensure safety and attend to environmental matters. Maintenance is an essential part of all production activities and has a direct impact on the productivity and outcome of business.

PowerMaint serves operational control of maintenance by producing accurate and up-to-date information about the activities, expenses, resources, malfunctioning and state of equipment. The system also provides analysis and reporting tools for long-term strategic maintenance planning.

Technology and content of the PowerMaint application

Technological foundation

The PowerMaint system has been developed using Oracle Internet Developer Suite and runs on an Oracle database.

Installation environments

PowerMaint is available for Windows LAN environments and Internet browser environments. The application can also be installed on a single Windows workstation.

Supported languages

PowerMaint is currently available in Finnish, English, Swedish, German and Russian. The system can also be implemented in other languages if needed

Applications

The PowerMaint system consists of the following modules: PowerMaint Maintenance Management, PowerMaint Materials Management, PowerMaint Additional Modules and PowerMaint Interfaces. PowerMaint Maintenance Management includes inventory management, while more comprehensive materials management functions, such as purchase orders, are provided by the PowerMaint Materials Management module. Additional Modules and Interfaces are offered separately.

Expandability

PowerMaint can be linked to other applications and systems using standard or customised interfaces.

General features of PowerMaint

User interface

PowerMaint offers displays with clearly presented content for the management of basic information and standard menus for basic operations. The system is easy to use: instructions, tips and notifications are displayed on screen in the selected language.

The PowerMaint Help menu provides access to an electronic version of the user manual. In addition, companies can add their own, internal display-specific instructions, accessible through the Customized Help button, for example, to fulfil the requirements of the company’s quality system.

Customised desktops

Users can define application-specific desktops with quick search links to separately specified data for each individual user.

Reports and printouts

The basic PowerMaint set-up includes several pre-defined standard reports for maintenance and materials management. The reports have their own launch displays with different types of search and sorting options. The output of reports can also be saved as PDF (Acrobat Reader), RTF and HTML files. In environments that support the MAPI standard, the reports can be attached directly to email messages.

PowerMaint data can be easily shared and used with other Windows-based software. The PowerMaint Analyzer application enables users to create the required reports and summaries using a reporting tool (e.g., Oracle Discoverer) over a documented interface.
